I'm Jim Mueller, owner and managing partner of Mueller Family Law Group. My career has been built around one goal: helping people get through the hardest chapter of their lives with clarity, strength, and dignity. I'm board certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and the International Academy of Family Lawyers, and a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers — a group limited to just 100 of the top family law trial lawyers in the country. I also wrote *Divorce in Texas: The Legal Process, Your Rights, and What to Expect*, because I believe clients deserve to walk into this process informed, not intimidated. My practice focuses on the most complex family law matters: high-conflict divorce, high-asset property division, custody battles, and marital property agreements, along with disputes involving closely held businesses, trusts, and overseas assets. Litigation is where I built my reputation, but I'm also one of the few AAML-certified mediators and arbitrators in Texas — which means when mediation or arbitration is the smarter path for a client, I can offer that too. Beyond my own practice, I've spent a lot of my career working to strengthen the profession. I currently chair the Family Law Section for the State Bar of Texas, serve as President of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, and hold the role of Second Vice President of the National AAML, after serving as Immediate Past President of the Texas AAML chapter. I regularly chair CLEs and speak to family law attorneys across the country and around the world, because I believe we all practice better when we share what we've learned. I earned my bachelor's degree magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rhodes College, then graduated cum laude from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. At the end of the day, what matters most to me is simple: helping my clients get through divorce and come out ready for what's next, and helping my fellow family law attorneys raise the standard of practice throughout Texas.
