A sixth-generation Texan, she earned her BA from the University of Texas in 1972 and her JD from South Texas College of Law in 1982, and joined the firm in 1985. She served in numerous leadership roles, including Chair of the Texas Family Law Foundation and Chair of the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section (2002-2003).
