Here’s what you need to do before you file for divorce. See a therapist, right? Can it be fixed? I think because you take a covenant, I think you know, any divorce, before you start, you should at least try some type of counseling to see if it’s worth it, especially when you have kids. But one of the biggest myths is to stay together for the benefit of the kids, which is the biggest myth out there because you’re modeling as functional, dysfunctional marriage. What also to do before a divorce, try to get as many financial documents as you can that are in the home, tax returns, account statements, documents such as that, so you can bring that to your attorney. You know, sometimes things magically disappear once divorce is filed and all that. So having that before a divorce is helpful.
And also learn about what a divorce entails. Consult with a divorce attorney, even if you’re not ready to get a feel of what it’s going to be like. And so consult with a divorce attorney even if you’re not ready so that you know you’re making an informed decision.
